The rift between Ranveer Singh and producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani has escalated into a public industry crisis following the Don 3 dispute. The situation reached a breaking point when the FWICE issued a formal non-cooperation directive against the actor, effectively blacklisting him from several professional engagements.
Amidst this tension, new reports suggest that the fallout wasn't immediate. During a high-stakes meeting in the first week of March, the Dhurandhar star allegedly presented a special offer to Excel Entertainment in an attempt to negotiate his position, though these efforts clearly failed to prevent the current legal and professional standoff.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source said, "As per a Bollywood Hungama source, “Ranveer Singh’s team offered to pay Rs 10 crores upfront to Excel Entertainment. In addition, they also offered a discount of Rs 25 crores on any other film that Excel may want to do with him outside of Don 3. The idea was to compensate Excel immediately while also keeping the professional relationship open for the future."
"Farhan and Ritesh were very clear that they did not want to work with Ranveer Singh after what they had gone through over the last two years. They felt that the delays, uncertainty, and the eventual fallout had caused them serious financial and professional damage. Hence, they refused the offer. Their stand was that Excel should get upfront compensation," the source further added.
FWICE issues non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh
The ongoing dispute over Don 3 escalated on May 25, 2026, when the FWICE officially issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh. The move follows producer Farhan Akhtar’s claim of a Rs 45 crore loss due to Singh’s last-minute exit from the film.

Ashoke Pandit emphasised the need for a formal resolution, stating that the producers, the actor and the federation must meet to reach a compromise on the financial damages. He argued that whether the final settlement is Rs 45 crore or a lower figure like Rs 30 crore, a dialogue is essential to provide closure. Pandit likened the situation to a family dispute that must be settled reasonably so that all parties can eventually return to work.
