The Bengal Files Advance Booking: Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial is set to hit the big screens in India in 24 hours now. The film has been receiving all the hype since the title announcement. It encountered several controversies from the title to the political aspect of Bengal. However, overcoming all the hurdles, the movie is set to release in theatres on September 5 and has a box office clash with Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4. Notably, The Bengal Files is the third instalment of The Files trilogy. The first part: The Tashkent Files (2019), the second part-The Kashmir Files (2022).
The Kashmir Files not only gained popularity but also marked a big milestone at the box office, earning Rs 252.25 crore in India and Rs 341 crore worldwide. The 2022 movie, starring Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumar in the lead, opened at the box office with Rs 3.55 crore in India. Now, the same craze is with The Bengal Files, the question comes whether it will break the record of its prequel or fall behind.
The Bengal Files Advance Booking Report
As per Sacnilk, the movie has sold 4935 tickets in India. After which, the movie’s collection stands at Rs 14.49 lakhs without block seats and Rs 44.51 lakhs with block seats till now. Maharashtra has been leading with the highest gross of Rs 4.62 Lakhs with 12.8 lakh block seats. Followed by Telangana with gross Rs 2.51 Lakhs (with block seats of 5.16 lakhs), Delhi with gross of Rs 1.86 lakhs (7.47 lakh block seats) and Karnataka with gross of Rs 1.57 lakhs (3.31 lakhs block seats). Till now, there is no sign of The Bengal Files breaking the opening day box office record of The Kashmir Files.
What To Expect From The Bengal Files?
The movie focuses on the tragic events surrounding Direct Action Day on 16 August 1946 (1946 Great Calcutta Killings), the violence that spread to the surrounding regions of the Bengal presidency, including the Noakhali riots of 1946 and incidents in Tipperah and Comilla. The film is based on the communal violence that shaped India’s path to Independence and partition. The narrative follows a criminal investigator, who is working on a missing person’s case. It uncovers a network of corruption.

The Bengal Files features Mithun Chakraborty as Madman Chatur, Pallavi Joshi as Maa Bharati, Darshan Kumar as Shiva Pandit, Simrat Kaur as Bharati, Anupam Kher as Mahatma Gandhi, Saswata Chatterjee as Sardar Husseini, Namashi Chakraborty as Ghulam Sarwar Husseini and Rajesh Khera as Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
