The Bengal Files: Vivek Agnihotri's upcoming hard-hitting film is expected to shock viewers with the harsh reality of the Direct Action Day. The trailer for The Bengal Files, the third installment in the Files trilogy, has created a lot of buzz ahead of its September 5 release date. Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, and Mithun Chakraborty are among the ensemble cast members of The Bengal Files, which is set against the backdrop of the horrific Noakhali riots. However, among them, a child actor has garnered the most attention due to his character name, Taimur.
The Bengal Files trails starts with Saswata Chatterjee introducing Darhsan Kumar to a boy named Taimur. Many internet users have been criticising the director for naming the child performer Taimur, claiming it was an oblique jab at Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
Who Is The Bengal Files Actor Hanish Kaushal?
In Vivek Agnihotri's film The Bengal Files, child actor Hanish Kaushal portrays Taimur. At the Indian Telly Awards 2025, he won the Fan Favorite, Child Artist Male Award for the show Jagriti-Ek Nayi Subah. He has also been active in TV, movies, and over-the-top content.
Additionally, Hanish made his digital debut in the web series Pill, where he portrayed Riteish Deshmukh's son in the film. Pawan Malhotra, Akshat Chauhan, Anshul Chauhan, and Hanish Kaushal all play important parts in the well-liked program.

Speaking with News18 Hindi, Hanish Kaushal revealed if he felt scared while working on The Bengal Files. "Vivek ji made me feel very comfortable. He used to tell me about the world map. Sometimes he used to have a lot of fun with me and also took a lot of care of us. I have a dialogue in the film, and I felt very good while shooting that scene. Because it was a monologue, people thought I would not be able to do it. But when I completed it, everyone clapped for me."
Why Did Vivek Agnihotri Use Taimur's Name?
Vivek Agnihotri has clarified that the name used in the movie has nothing to do with Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's firstborn son, Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. In a recent appearance on The Raunac Show, he said, "Main jab The Tashkent Files shoot karne gaya tha Samarkand, toh wahan pe Taimur Lang ka makbara hai. Okay? Aur uske bahar likha hua hai ki ‘he conquered the richest sultanate in the world’."
He added, "Sultanate Delhi, Delhi sultanate in the world. Aur usko isliye mahan maante hain ki usne vishv ki sabse… haan usko emperor ka khitaab de rahe the. Woh likha hai uske wahin pe. Aap jaaye kabhi toh padhiyega bahar. Usko emperor ka khitaab de rahe the, usne kaha main tab tak apne ko emperor nahi bulaunga jab tak main Dilli pe fateh nahi kar lunga. Phir woh aaya army leke fateh karne."
Meanwhile, The Bengal Files is regarded as the most daring film in the series and is based on the genocide of the 1946 Noakhali riots, in which between 40,000 and 50,000 Hindus were killed. Vivek Agnihotri hopes to reveal the truth about the unseen and agonizing history of Bengal's partition through his upcoming flick.
