'RRR' stood out of the crowd last year gaining immense success and fans across the globe with its smashing song core, dialogues, and actions. The film featured Ram Charan and NTR Jr in lead roles with Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles.

The rumor mill recently is making headlines with the second installment of the film in the making. However, now the writer of 'RRR' Vijayendra Prasad confirmed the return of the film, however without SS Rajamouli taking the directorial seat.

According to a report in India Today, SS Rajamouli's father said, "We are planning to make a sequel to Ram Charan and Jr NTR's film RRR. This movie will feature both stars and be made to Hollywood standards. A Hollywood producer is likely to be roped in for this film. The movie will be directed by SS Rajamouli or someone under his supervision."

However, the film will only go on floors after the completion of SS Rajamouli's next film 'SSMB 29' with Mahesh Babu. The film promises to be much bigger than 'RRR' with Rajamouli starting work on 'Mahabharat', another ambitious project of the director after 'SSMB 29.'

'RRR' made headlines after its song 'Naatu Naatu' won the Oscar in the Best Song category. The song was headed against Applause (Tell It Like a Woman), Hold My Hand (Top Gun Maverick), Lift Me Up (Black Pather Wakanda Forever), and This is a Life (Everything Everywhere All at Once). The music director and lyricist of the song accepted the award on stage in the presence of the entire film's leading cast.

'Naatu Naatu' stood out to be the second Indian song to win an Oscar after 'Slumdog Millionaire's 'Jai Ho' song won in the same category in 2009. MM Keerawani and lyricist Chandrabose were invited to the award show, while SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan, and NTR Jr were also on the list.
