A 35-year-old CBI lawyer died in a road accident on the National Highway in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, clearly showing the accident as it occurred. The footage allegedly shows a speeding vehicle ramming into the lawyer's car from behind near Banihal.

Succumbed To Injuries During Treatment

The victim, Sheikh Adil Nabi, had recently been appointed as a Prosecuting Officer with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Adil sustained critical injuries in the collision and was immediately rushed to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Banihal, where he was administered first aid. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Arun Gupta, Senior Superintendent of Police (Ramban), stated that Adil Sheikh, who was serving as a public prosecutor and had been posted to the CBI in Chandigarh about two months ago, was injured in the accident.

Driver Arrested

The officer confirmed that the police have arrested Mohammad Shafi, the driver of the Mahindra Scorpio involved in the collision. Adil had recently cleared the UPSC examination and was appointed as a Public Prosecutor with the premier investigation agency in Chandigarh.
