Gujarat Rains: Due to the heavy rains falling over the South Gujarat and Maharashtra border, rail traffic has been affected significantly. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad rail route has been disrupted, leading to cancellation and short-termination of several trains.
At Railway Bridge No 203 located between Gholvad and Umargam Road stations under Mumbai Central Division, the water level of the river has reached the danger mark. Considering the risk to the lives of passengers, the Western Railway has temporarily stopped the movement of trains on this route as a safety measure.

Train No 22927: Bandra Terminus–Ahmedabad 'Lok Shakti Express' (Date: 23.07.2026)
Short-terminated train
Train No. 12902: Ahmedabad–Dadar Gujarat Mail (Date: 22.07.2026) has been short-terminated at Valsad station instead of reaching Mumbai.
Train No. 22956: Bhuj–Bandra Terminus 'Kutch Superfast Express' (Date: 22.07.2026) has been run up to Udhna Station (Surat) only.
Train No. 20908: Bhuj–Dadar 'Sayaji Nagri Superfast Express' (Date: 22.07.2026) has also been stopped at Udhna station.
Change in schedule of return train
Train No. 12901: Dadar–Ahmedabad 'Gujarat Mail' (Date: 23.07.2026) will depart for Ahmedabad from Valsad station instead of departing from Mumbai (Dadar).
Special notice for passengers
The railway administration has said that train services will be resumed only after the water recedes and the track is declared safe. Passengers are requested to check the status of their train on the railway helpline number 139 or NTES (National Train Enquiry System) app before leaving for the station.
Kaveri River disrupts traffic on NH-48
Meanwhile, the Gujarat Police has also directed the drivers of heavy vehicles heading towards Navsari, Valsad, and Mumbai to stop at safe locations and avoid moving further as incessant rainfall in Valsad and Navsari districts has caused the Kaveri River to flow through National Highway-48.
Cars submerged in parking
The wrath of the torrential rains in the state was witnessed in Vapi, Valsad, where a parking was completely inundated, submerging vehicles.
The visual of the incident has gone viral on social media. Vapi has been flooded for the third consecutive day. Flood waters have entered homes, shops and houses, while several vehicles have been partially or completely submerged.
