A mill worker was found dead at the RJ Cotton Mill near the Ranithottam area in Ballari district, Karnataka, police reported on Saturday.
Authorities stated that the worker’s wife, Neelaveni, discovered his body. The man was found naked, with visible injury marks on his head, shoulder, and ear. Neelaveni had previously filed a missing person report after her husband left the house a few days earlier and did not return.
“On April 4, 2025, Neelaveni filed a complaint about her husband's disappearance. On April 5, she was informed that his body had been found. She, along with relatives, went to the site and discovered the body, which had injury marks,” said Ballari Superintendent of Police Shobha Rani to ANI.

Based on the complaint, police have filed an FIR under Section 103 (murder) of the BNS Act. The investigation is ongoing.
In another recent incident, five people died and 11 others were injured early Saturday when a van crashed into a parked truck near Nelogi Cross in Kalaburagi district. The victims were identified as residents of Bagalkote district. The injured were taken to Kalaburagi Hospital for treatment. Kalaburagi SP A. Srinivasulu visited the site to investigate.
The police have filed a case at Nelogi police station.
