Twisha Sharma Murder Case: In a fresh development in the Twisha Sharma death case, the troubles of former district judge Giribala Singh and her son Samarth Singh, both in judicial custody over the suspicious death of model Twisha Sharma, continue to mount. While they have yet to receive any relief from the Bhopal court, a separate inquiry into allegations that the two were receiving VIP treatment inside Bhopal Central Jail has now been completed.

On Friday, Jail DIG Sanjay Pandey conducted a surprise inspection of the central jail and recorded statements from the officials concerned. Following the inspection, the inquiry report was submitted to Director General of Prisons Varun Kapoor.

According to our correspondent, disciplinary action against two senior jail officials is considered almost certain based on the report’s findings. One of the officials is reportedly likely to be transferred.

Security In-Charge Deputy Jailer Removed

In the wake of the controversy surrounding the alleged VIP treatment, the jail administration has removed Deputy Jailer Jaya Yadav, who was responsible for security arrangements in the barrack housing former judge Giribala Singh. Jaya Yadav, known for her strict adherence to rules, has been replaced by a matron.

The investigation into Twisha Sharma’s death was handed over to the CBI, which had taken both accused into custody for extensive questioning before they were sent to judicial custody.

Additionally, CCTV footage is being scanned regularly to monitor the activities of the accused within the prison cell throughout the day.

Samarth Singh was initially kept under special surveillance but was shifted to a general barrack on Friday morning. His security arrangements remain unchanged, with five guards assigned to monitor his activities. Seven female guards have been deployed for the security of Giribala Singh, who is lodged in the women's prison.

Charge Sheet Being Prepared

The CBI is now focused on filing the charge sheet. Twisha’s post-mortem report has been received, and investigators are reviewing earlier reports and witness statements to ensure that both scientific and circumstantial evidence is presented effectively in court.

Officials confirmed that the charge sheet is being prepared and is expected to be filed soon.

Twisha Sharma (33) was found dead under suspicious circumstances. Her maternal family claimed that their daughter was suffering from depression and that her in-laws were repeatedly harassing her and demanding dowry. As the case gained attention, investigators found that Giribala and Samarth were not transparent in their statements. The CBI has since taken over the investigation.
