Mumbai: A speeding BMW reportedly met with an accident inside the Coastal Road Tunnel late Tuesday night, causing traffic disruptions along the stretch. A video of the incident has surfaced on the internet, showing a white BMW stranded inside the tunnel with visible damage to its bonnet, following the accident.

Though no injuries were reported in the incident, the accident caused a slowdown in traffic inside the tunnel, news agency PTI quoted sources as saying.

Video: Speeding BMW Crashes Inside Mumbai’s Coastal Road Tunnel

The accident, involving a white BMW, reportedly took place at Tardeo on the southbound arm of the road, PTI reported.

A video of the incident, which has surfaced on social media, shows the damaged car stranded in the tunnel with a crumpled bonnet, as bystanders gathered around the vehicle, further obstructing traffic flow. The accident caused a temporary slowdown in vehicular movement.

BMW Crash Causes Traffic Disruption On Mumbai’s Coastal Road

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Mumbai Traffic Police alerted the commuters about the BMW crash and the resulting traffic slowdown along the stretch. At around 11:59 PM, the traffic police issued a follow-up update confirming that traffic had returned to normal.

The damaged vehicle has reportedly been cleared from the scene by traffic authorities. An investigation into the accident is currently underway, the PTI report added.

Speeding Car Kills Man In Pune

Earlier on Tuesday morning, a 27-year-old milk business supervisor was killed in Pune when a speeding Fiat Punto allegedly rammed into his two-wheeler from behind near S M Ghule Chowk.

The incident occurred on the newly opened cement-concrete road near Raheja Premier society in Pune’s NIBM Annexe-Mohammadwadi area, sparking public outrage and demands for improved road safety measures along the corridor.
