Second Sawan Somwar Vrat 2024: Date And Shubh Muhurat

The second fast of Sawan Somwar will be observed by devotees on 29th July 2024.

The shubh muhurat for somwar puja will be during Amrit Kaal in the morning from 06:17 AM to 07:50 AM and then during Abhijit Muhurat from 12:00 PM to 12:54 PM.

The Sawan Somvar Fast holds significant importance for individuals with diverse motivations, including seeking a long and healthy life, a harmonious married life, or the well-being and prosperity of their children. Observing this fast is believed to bring numerous benefits, such as increased wealth, luxury, and progeny. On this day, devotees worship Lord Shiva with Belpatra leaves, as it's believed that the Lord resides in the roots of these leaves. This puja is considered to be as spiritually rewarding as embarking on a sacred pilgrimage, granting devotees equivalent merits and blessings.

Second Sawan Somwar Vrat 2024: Rituals Of This Day

On the fast of Sawan Somvar, devotees must wake up early, preferably during the Brahm Muhurat and take a bath. They must vow to follow the fast of Sawan Monday and offer worship to Lord Shiva. The devotees must visit the nearby Lord Shiva temple and offer Abhishek to the Shivling using Panchamrit - Milk, Curd, Honey, Ghee and Ganga Jal. They must also offer bilwa leaves, flowers, incense and Chandan to the lord and light a ghee diya. Devotees must also recite Lord Shiva's aarti to culminate their puja. Throughout the day, devotees must chant Lord Shiva mantras and meditate upon Lord Shiva. In the evening, devotees must listen to the Somwar vrat Katha and offer Panjiri as bhog to Lord Shiva. After performing the evening aarti, devotees can break the fast but they must not consume salt throughout the day of the fast.
