If you recently upgraded to an iPhone 17 or installed iOS 26, and experienced connectivity issues, Apple recently issued iOS 26.0.1 as a minor but vital update which addresses these and several other bugs.

iOS 26.0.1: What’s Fixed

Apple states that this update aims to enhance stability and security for iPhone 17 Pro and Air devices, including key fixes for:

Connectivity improvements

- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection drops resolved

- Cellular network disruptions fixed

Visual and UI fixes

- Photos no longer show artefacts in certain lighting conditions

- Blank app icons caused by custom tint are now corrected

- Floating keyboard bug where it shifted position unexpectedly has been fixed

Accessibility improvements

- VoiceOver, Apple’s screen reader, no longer disables unexpectedly

Security patch

- FontParser contains a critical vulnerability (CVE-2025-43499) which allows malicious files to compromise apps or corrupt memory and potentially lead to crashes and corruptions of memory. This update addresses this vulnerability.

- Improved memory handling with stronger bounds checking

Which Devices Get iOS 26.0.1?

Update is available for iPhone 11 models and later, such as the latest 17 series iPhones. Users can access and download it by navigating to:

Settings > General > Software Update.

What’s Next: iOS 26.1 in Testing

Apple has also begun testing iOS 26.1 beta, which will likely introduce several new features like:

- Expanded language support for Apple Intelligence

- Enhanced translation features for AirPods

Though Apple has yet to confirm an exact release date, iOS 26.1 is expected to offer more robust feature sets than its predecessor 26.0.1.
