Instagram Threads, Meta's text-based updates rival to Elon Musk's X, formerly called Twitter, has just got another valuable enhancement for its user base. The Mark Zuckerberg-led company has announced that the platform can now be used via the mobile internet browser. While Threads can be better experienced on the mobile app, this can be helpful for people who don't want to download the app for varying reasons but use the social media service.

Jay Peters from The Verge spotted the update first and said a member from the Threads teams shared about it on the platform. "hi from mobile web," chowfun_ posted. While accessing the application from Chrome was fine, the journalist added the experience did not work as expected on Safari.

However, a fix to the problem is expected soon. Users shared their take on this enhancement on the platform. "Finally threads.net for mobile is live. I'm excited for it I have been waiting for so long," a user said. Another one said: "Thanks, really excited for this! Btw, I'm not seeing any activity when I check using Mobile Web on Android Chrome."

This update arrives after the release of the web version of the app on PC. Users have expressed resentment against the absence of a full-fledged browser experience for Threads in the past. While navigating across profiles on the web is available, engaging with posts via replies, posts, and exploring feeds was challenging without the app, according to HT Tech. With the update, this is set to change.

Speaking of the debut, the text-based app kicked off with a phenomenal start, with downloads clocking in millions moments after launch. However, the lack of features and similarities with Instagram caused users to exit the platform soon. In view of this, Meta adds and tests new features to the app at a rapid speed.

Among the notable ones include a search function, a web version for PC, and tags (similar to X's hashtags). Plus, the company is also allowing users to delete their Threads profile without affecting their Instagram account. You can read more about this here.
