Instagram Threads is scheduled to roll out hashtags, allowing users to categorise their messages by interest or theme, in a strategic move similar to X's primary feature. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the start of testing for this new function, which will begin with a small group of users in Australia.

Users of Threads can tag topics using the hashtag functionality, indicated by the "#" symbol. The tags show up as clickable blue links. By enabling users to examine postings associated with particular subjects, the tool seeks to improve community involvement and content discoverability. To make tagging easier, the platform will make relevant tag suggestions as users write.

The hashtag feature will soon be available in additional countries after the Australian experiment. A more connected user experience is promoted when a post is tagged and published, since anyone may click on the tag to view a list of related posts on the same subject.

Users of Threads will now have the ability to remove their profiles separately from their Instagram accounts in addition to the innovative hashtag feature. In response to customer input, this improvement offers more control and freedom over personal information and online visibility. Additionally, users have the option to temporarily deactivate their Threads profiles without completely deleting them.

Additionally, Instagram head Adam Mosseri stated how the company has reacted to user feedback by adding the option to stop Threads posts from automatically being shared on Facebook and Instagram, among other apps. By making this change, we hope to allay user worries about privacy and better customise the sharing experience to suit personal tastes.
