Twitter (now X) was recently in the news for a logo change across platforms. While the changes appeared on the same day on the web version of the microblogging site, they are now inching towards Android. The Elon Musk-owned platform has a new name when you type 'Twitter' on the Google Play Store.

In the Android apps store listing, the new in-app screenshots appear with an 'X' logo and an updated design language. The company has made an attempt to wipe off all the traces of the Larry Bird and 'Twitter' text, as evident in the new media content.

The new 'About this app' description reads: "The X app is the trusted digital town square for everyone." According to the description, users can "Upload and watch videos up to three hours in length." But the web Help Centre still states two hours limit.

As of now, Larry Bird continues to rule the UI interface across the board. We tried it on multiple Android phones and can confirm this at the time of filing. However, the changes might reflect anytime soon. Here are a few logo options that may be available for verified users.

In a previous move, the company updated several associated Twitter handles of the app, including the most prominent '@Twitter' handle and replaced it with '@X'. The Blue handle has been renamed to Blue Subscription (@XBlue).

Further, @XNewsDaily, a reliable source for X-related news, added that the company is also working on an "audio and video calling" feature. The option to hide the checkmark for Blue subscribers may also debut soon, the account added. The Android app is also getting more Custom Navigation options for verified subscribers to match up with the iOS counterpart.

X will only have "dark mode"

Elon Musk in a recent update also added that X will "only have 'dark mode'" claiming "it is better in every way."
