No, I am not talking about the app updates. In this article, we will tell you about the update that most of you miss, as it is kept hidden in your phones. Types of Updates

There are 3 types of updates that you should know about to keep your devices up to date. We are now going to tell you about all of them.

1. Android Updates:

These updates are pushed from your smartphone brand, providing new features and security updates to your smartphone. These updates make sure that your smartphone is running smoothly without any bugs and if there is a problem on a device level, then fix it.

2. App Updates:

App updates are provided by the app developers, ensuring to fix the issues caused inside or because of the app. Moreover, mostly these app updates are pushed via Play Store or any other app store.

3. Google Play Updates:

This is one of the update that most of the people don’t know about and they skip it unknowingly as it is quite hidden in the settings. But don’t worry, we will tell you everything about them in this article.

What are Google Play updates?

Earlier around 2019, on the non-Pixel devices, it was almost impossible to introduce new features on the Google apps until the smartphone companies tests that update and release a full new software update for your phone. Now to bypass these companies barriers, Google introduced the Google Play Services system app, which allowed it to rollout some new features independently from full software updates, but there’s only so much it could do with just an app.

Google split away parts of the Android system to simplify and speed up their upgrades without passing by manufacturers. Those are the Google Play system updates.

So when Google announces a new feature coming to all Android 10 phones in a blanket statement like that, it’s often implying that it’ll send it through a Play System update, not through a software update. Google knows it can reach all Android phones with this, and it doesn’t need approval or testing from any specific manufacturer to send it to your Galaxy or your Moto, or any other smartphone brand.
