Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will hand over the keys to EWS flats, built on land seized from mafia figure Mukhtar Ansari in the posh Dalibagh area of Hazratganj, to economically weaker section beneficiaries on Wednesday. The handover ceremony will take place at a programme organised at Ekta Van, opposite the DGP's residence.
Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) Vice-Chairman Prathmesh Kumar stated that this project is a direct result of the Chief Minister's "zero-tolerance" policy and a statewide campaign to reclaim illegal land from the mafia. Following CM Yogi's vision and directive, land illegally occupied by Mukhtar in Dalibagh was reclaimed, and the LDA constructed EWS flats for the poor on that site.
These 72 flats were built under the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Awas Yojana on approximately 2,322 square metres of reclaimed land. The LDA VC detailed that the project consists of three ground-plus-three blocks, with each flat having an area of 36.65 square metres.
The scheme is in a prime location, situated on the 20-metre-wide Bundha Road, just five to 10 minutes from key areas like Balu Adda, 1090 Chauraha, Narhi, Sikandarbagh, and Hazratganj Chauraha. The price for each EWS category flat has been set at Rs 10.70 lakh. The complex includes provisions for clean water, electricity supply, security, and adequate parking for two-wheelers. External development work, including the construction of roads and a park, has also been completed.

Online registration for the flats was open from October 4 to November 3, 2025. By the time the registration period ended on Monday, approximately 8,000 people had applied for the 72 flats. The lottery process to select the beneficiaries was completed on Tuesday.
