Australia and Australians, as per the internet, can often turn into a ‘different species’ altogether when it comes to reacting to deadly animals. Where the rest of the world might choose to run away from a particular wild animal-related situation, Australians might and mostly WILL choose to do the exact opposite instead. In a similar example, an incident came forward, where some campers enjoying a relaxing barbecue party were raided by some giant crabs! However, the campers being the typical Aussies that they are, looked completely unbothered.
As per the viral post, the crabs in question were Coconut crabs, also known as Robber crabs, which apparently are harmless. Yet it's hard to deny the fact that the campers looked a bit too ‘chilled’ considering the huge size of the ‘invaders’. The incident as per the post unfolded on Christmas Island, which is off the coast of Western Australia.
The post was shared on social media platform Instagram, by the handle ‘viewsaddict’. The post was captioned, “While this unsuspecting family enjoyed freshly cooked barbecue while camping on isolated Christmas Island, off the coast of Western Australia, an army of hungry crabs arrived. Surprisingly, the family remained unbothered and enjoyed them.”

As soon as the incident went viral, the classic ‘just Australia thing’ reaction took the post over, as most people found it bizarre, and some called the incident normal for Australia. The post was shared a day ago and pulled 297K likes from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “People in the comments are saying they’re a protected species. Yeah, and they f**kin ACT LIKE IT,” a user said. “Nope! Reason 67,453 why I guess Australia won’t be getting checked off of my list,” added a second person. “So, if they accidentally fell to the fire, it’s okay to eat it?” joked a third person. “Get the Pokeballs out, there's Krabbys to be caught,” wrote a fourth person.
“But the real question is why the f**k y’all just chilling there,” added a fifth user. “Australia is just the storage facility for all the creatures that didn’t pass inspection from the angels,” wrote another. “Most normal family barbecue in Australia,” added another. “Why do animals in Australia look like they came out of the pits of hell?” added another.
