The value of parents, family, and friends is something that needs no explanation. In fact, in the current world, where migration is the key to growth for countless people, getting to stay with one’s family is nothing but a blessing. However, the same cannot overwrite the fact that moving away does play an important role in one’s life, as far as taking one’s own responsibilities, learning household skills, financial decisions, independence, and more, is concerned.
Circling around the same, an internet user asked netizens about the ‘real benefits’ of staying away from home and parents. He also tagged it as a path towards ‘exposure to bad habits’ and ‘more useless responsibilities’. The post instantly went viral and received all sorts of answers from people. From stressing on the importance of independence and growth to learning skills, like money Management and people management, netizens had a lot to say on the benefits of learning to stay alone.
The post was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘tushaarmehtaa’. It read, “People who have moved out of their parents' homes, I have a question. Want to understand what upside you guys get from living away from home. Less money to invest. More exposure to bad habits. More useless responsibilities. Are there any real benefits, or just fReeDoM?”

Taking to the comment section, people shared their views. “Increase exposure, gaining the ability to handle small and large real-world challenges. Improving decision-making capability to improve our lives in new places. Money Management, People management, coping with people. Figuring out what is right, wrong for us,” a user said.
“Most people I know who moved out have moved out to avoid a) ghar ki chik chik b) pressure to go down one life path or another c) inability to express themselves openly as adults,” added a second person.
“I'd say rather than freedom it's independence and learning to take care of yourself. If you are at home, you are pampered a lot, you don't have to mostly do laundry, take care of food, and basic house hygiene. You learn to be an adult,” added a third person.
