The United States President-elect Donald Trump has received the ‘Patriot of the Year’ award at an event organised by Fox Nation on Thursday. Trump, while delivering his acceptance speech, claimed that he has already accomplished more than the whole tenure of Joe Biden. He also stated that his team is going to bring the nation once again on the track, and America will be great again.
“I think you have seen more happen in the last two weeks than you have in the last four years, and we’re not even there yet,” Trump said. “We’re going to make America great again,” he added. Trump also reflected on the recently concluded presidential election where he emerged victorious. He said that the election time period was tremendous, and he worked for 72 days without any leave.
“It was a tremendous day, a tremendous night, a tremendous period of time,” Trump said. Trump also emphasised that he got a spectacular victory in the election and the US was already getting benefits because of his victory.
The speech from Trump came after a live performance of “God Bless the USA” by the singer Lee Greenwood, who also said that the criminals should not be allowed to stay in America and all-paper election ballots should be embraced. Greenwood also stated that everyone residing in the US must have a mandatory voter ID.
During his speech, Trump also raised the issue of illegal border crossings and drug flows. Trump earlier threatened Canada and Mexico with a 25 per cent tariff on all imported goods until they countered illegal border crossings.
He pointed out to his conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum regarding the issue. “Justin came flying right in,” Trump said. The crowd started chanting "51" as soon as Trump started to talk about Canada, a viral joke regarding Trump that claims that Canada could become the 51st US state.
