Renault Duster Pickup:  Renault, the French car manufacturer, showcased the concept of a Renault Duster-based Pickup called the Renault Niagara pickup truck in 2023. The pickup truck was spied testing several times on roads, and the brand recently shared the first teaser of the upcoming Renault Niagara. Let’s take a look at what can be expected from the upcoming Renault Niagara pickup truck.

Renault Niagara: Made For South America

Renault Duster was introduced globally in 2010, and the brand has been exploring a pickup truck option of the SUV ever since. 5 years later, the brand unveiled the Renault Duster Oroch or Renault Oroch globally. The Oroch was offered in South American markets such as Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Colombia. The Renault Niagara is expected to be launched on September 10 for the South American markets, and it will be built in Argentina.

Renault Niagara: Not Traditional

The upcoming Renault Niagara is based on the Renault Boreal, which is the seven-seater iteration of the Renault Duster SUV. Additionally, the Niagara is built on a monocoque SUV chassis, unlike traditional pickup trucks, which use a ladder frame chassis.

Renault Niagara: What We Know

The brand has teased the rear section of the pickup truck, which shares the traditional drop-down style tailgate. We can anticipate the Renault Niagara to have a longer wheelbase than the brand’s 7-seater SUV, the Renault Boreal. The Renault Niagara concept has a two-cab design with a long loadbed, and we expect the production-spec version to offer the same.

Renault Niagara: Engine Specs

The Renault Niagara pickup truck is expected to come equipped with the same engine option as the Renault Duster. We anticipate it to be powered by either a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine or a 1.8-litre strong hybrid engine. While the turbo petrol can generate a peak power output of 163 hp, the strong hybrid engine can churn out a peak power output of 160 hp. An All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configuration is also anticipated to be offered with the Renault Niagara.
