Mercedes AMG S 63 E Performance Launched: Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the AMG S 63 E Performance in India, positioning it as the flagship variant of the S-Class range. The AMG S 63 E Performance has been launched in India at a price of Rs 3.30 crore (ex-showroom). This new model stands out as the most powerful S-Class to date, featuring a plug-in hybrid 4.0-litre V8 engine.

Talking about the design of the AMG S 63, it distinguishes itself from the standard S-Class with AMG-specific styling elements. These include the Panamericana grille with a centrally mounted Mercedes logo and a sportier front bumper with large air intakes. The rear features an AMG-specific diffuser with quad exhaust pipes. The optional Night exterior package adds dark chrome or gloss black highlights, while the carbon-fibre package introduces carbon fibre trims on various parts of the exterior. The car comes standard with 20-inch, 10-spoke alloys, with 21-inch wheels available as an option.
Mercedes AMG S 63 E Performance - Interior and Features
In terms of interior, the AMG S 63 boasts a new four-spoke AMG steering wheel and AMG-spec pedals. The latest MBUX software includes AMG and hybrid-specific displays and functions, featuring an exclusive "Super Sport" theme. The interior also includes a 12.8-inch OLED touchscreen with a waterfall effect, 4-zone climate control, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting and a Level 2 ADAS suite. Optional features include executive lounge seats, a rear seat entertainment package, an augmented reality head-up display and various Nappa leather upholstery and trim options.

Mercedes AMG S 63 E Performance - Powertrain
Under the hood, the AMG S 63 is powered by AMG’s renowned 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, paired with a 13.1kWh battery and an electric motor on the rear axle. The electric motor alone delivers a power output of 190 bhp and 320 Nm of torque, while the combined output reaches an impressive 802 bhp and 1,430Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission and power is distributed to all four wheels via the 4Matic system. The car features a 'Race Start' function for better launching, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 3.3 seconds. It offers eight drive modes, including an all-electric mode that provides up to 33 km of range with a top speed of 125 km/h.
