German sports car manufacturer Porsche is gearing up to launch the Macan EV in all global markets soon. Bookings for the top-spec variant of the Porsche Macan EV have commenced in India. However, more affordable variants with lower power are expected to join the lineup later this year in the country.

The new Porsche Macan EV comes with a new platform, a large battery, and advanced EV technology, making it a significant upgrade from its predecessor. Although it's no longer the entry-level Porsche model, Porsche plans to introduce more budget-friendly variants soon. While these new models haven't been officially announced, assumptions have been made based on Porsche's existing lineup and technical specifications.

According to a report by Autocar, one potential addition could be the Macan 4S, positioned between the Macan 4 and the Turbo. Even lower on the price spectrum could be a single-motor Macan with rear-wheel drive, using the less powerful rear motor of the Macan 4. Porsche has confirmed that all Macan EV variants will share the same 100kWh battery, meaning lower-priced models won't compromise on battery capacity.

In some markets, Porsche will phase out the first-generation ICE Macan due to upcoming regulations. However, in places like India, where there's still demand for petrol cars and no immediate regulatory hurdles, the older Macan model will continue to be sold alongside its new EV counterpart.
