Upcoming Cars In May 2024: From Maruti Suzuki Swift Facelift To Force Gurkha 5-Door, Check List

Maruti Suzuki Swift

The fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift has been already launched in markets like Japan and the UK and will now be launched in India. It sports a fresh design inside and out while maintaining the Swift's core appeal. It's powered by a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z series petrol engine that is capable of producing a power output of 82 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. It is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. While the global Swift has petrol, hybrid, and all-wheel-drive options, India will get the petrol variant without hybrid or AWD, possibly with an AMT instead of a CVT. In terms of features, the new Swift offers a 9-inch display, auto AC, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, blind-spot detection among other features. 

Force Gurkha 5-Door

Force recently revealed the Gurkha 5-door and its prices will be revealed at its scheduled launch. Alongside the longer-wheelbase version, Force is also updating the 3-door Gurkha with new features and mechanical changes. Both variants will be powered by a 2.6-litre diesel engine that is capable of producing a power output of 140 bhp, while being paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. They come with a standard 4x4 drivetrain featuring manually locking differentials and shift-on-fly capability for switching between 2WD and 4WD. The 5-door model offers a 3-row seating layout with bench seats in the second row and captain seats in the third. Both variants are equipped with features such as a new 9-inch touchscreen, digital driver’s display, dual front airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Tata Altroz Racer

The Tata Altroz Racer was recently showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. The sporty variant of the Tata Altroz is also making its way to the market soon. This sportier version of Tata's premium hatchback comes with added features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen, 7-inch digital driver display, ventilated front seats and a sunroof. Safety features include six airbags, rain-sensing wipers and a reversing camera. The Altroz Racer will be powered by the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Nexon. This engine is capable of producing a power output of 120 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional automatic transmission.
