Upcoming Electric Cars In India In 2024: Electric cars are experiencing significant growth in India for several reasons. Rising fuel prices, increasing pollution concerns, and government incentives for EV adoption have all contributed to this trend. Numerous manufacturers, including Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai, MG, Kia, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Volvo are actively participating in the expanding EV market. Continuing this momentum, many new electric vehicles are slated for launch in India in 2024. Here is a list of upcoming electric cars set to be introduced in the Indian market this year.

Maruti Suzuki eVX
Maruti Suzuki, a major car manufacturer in India, plans to launch its first electric vehicle, the eVX, by the end of 2024. The eVX was recently showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The Maruti Suzuki eVX has also been spotted testing in India. While detailed specifications are not yet available, the eVX is expected to feature a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a driving range of 550 km.
Tata Curvv EV
Tata Motors, a leading player in India's EV market, is preparing to launch more electric models in the coming year. Tata Curvv SUV will be available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) versions. Although specific details about the Curvv EV are not yet disclosed, Tata aims to launch both versions around September 2024.
Volvo EX90
Volvo is introducing the EX90 as its flagship electric SUV, based on the XC90 model. The EX90 features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with two power levels. The base model delivers 408 bhp and 770 Nm of torque, while the higher variant produces 517 bhp and 910 Nm of torque. Both versions can reach a top speed of 180 km/h.
Mahindra XUV.e8
Currently, Mahindra offers only the XUV400 as its sole electric vehicle in India. However, the company plans to expand its EV lineup this year. The Mahindra XUV.e8, an electric version of the flagship XUV700, is expected to launch by the end of 2024.
Hyundai Creta EV
The Hyundai Creta EV has been spotted testing, revealing some styling details. It is expected to feature a 45 kWh battery pack and share its electric motor with the latest-generation Kona Electric. This motor will deliver 138 bhp and 255 Nm of torque. Hyundai India is anticipated to launch the Creta EV by the end of 2024.
