Authorities are taking action against beneficiaries who received financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) but failed to complete their houses. The Rural Development Department has issued auction notices to 322 individuals for the recovery of funds.

According to the department, 565 houses approved in the past two financial years remain unfinished. MIS Officer Sudhir Kumar Pandey reported that from 2016-17 to 2021-22, approval was granted for 48,012 houses across all district blocks, of which 47,447 houses have been completed. 

Despite receiving financial aid, 565 beneficiaries did not complete their houses, prompting the department to issue white and red notices. When they failed to comply, auction notices were filed against 322 defaulters across various blocks:

  • Adhaura: 152 beneficiaries

  • Bhabua: 45

  • Bhagwanpur: 27

  • Durgavati: 4

  • Kudra: 29

  • Mohania: 10

  • Nuaon: 14

  • Ramgarh: 15

  • Rampur: 24

To ensure housing for the homeless, a panchayat-level survey is being conducted from January 10 to March 31 to identify eligible beneficiaries.
