South Africa Whitewash India: Under-fire India head coach Gautam Gambhir took the sole blame for India's 2-0 drubbing against South Africa at home turf and asserted that his side will not make excuse for the Test downfall, stating that 'blame lies at the feet of everyone starting with me."
In over 12 months, India were humbled twice at their home ground. India faced a massive margin of defeat by 408 runs against South Africa in the second Test.

South Africa took the golden honour as they defeated India for the maiden time in 25 years, scripting a series whitewash by 2-0.
"The blame lies at the feet of everyone starting with me. Start prioritising Test cricket. If we want Test cricket to flourish in India, we have to collectively do it. More than the accountability it's about the care. This is what a transition phase is and young players would learn on the job," Gambhir conceded in his first reactions after the 0-2 drubbing at the press conference.
Notably, under Gambhir's reign India have lost 10 of the 18 Tests, and this also includes twin whitewashes against New Zealand last year and South Africa now, both at home.
Gambhir attributed his team's lacklustre performance in the series to the transition phase, stating that the young side was ‘learning on the job’ and would need time to find their footing.
“I expect better from everyone. I expect better from myself to everyone in that room. I’m not going to sit here and say I expect something better from one individual. If you want to win Test matches against quality sides, you need to expect better from everyone. That’s how you win Tests. You don’t blame one individual shot or one individual for playing in a certain way. You blame everyone," he added.
