ICC ODI Rankings: India's batting mogul Virat Kohli has surged past Shubman Gill in the latest ICC ODI batting rankings after his match-winning century in the first ODI against South Africa in Ranchi.
Meanwhile, opener Rohit Sharma maintains a firm hold on the top spot, further extending his lead over New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell.
Kohli's masterful 135 off 120 balls pushed India to a 17-run victory over South Africa in Ranchi, stitching a 136-run stand with Rohit Sharma that helped India post 349 runs. This impressive performance catapulted Kohli to fourth place in the ICC ODI rankings with 751 points, overtaking Shubman Gill (738). Kohli now trails Rohit (783) by 32 points.
Former India skipper Rohit (783) retained his top spot, New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell (766) holds second place and Afghanistan's Ibrahim Zadran (764) has a firm grip on third.
Kohli overtook India ODI captain Shubman Gill, who moved down to No. 5 after missing the ongoing three-match series against South Africa due to a neck injury.
India batter Shreyas Iyer, who is also recovering from an injury that he sustained during India's white ball tour to Australia, stood firm in 9th place.
Meanwhile, left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav earned one place to move to sixth after bagging four wickets in the first match against South Africa.
In the Test batter's list, India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal continued to stand at No. 9, while Gill glided one place down to 12. Wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant was also on a downcast spiral, moving down from 12th to 14th.

In the rankings for Test bowlers, India's ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah stayed on top of the mound with 879 points, well clear of New Zealand pacer Matt Henry (846).
However, mediocre outings in the two-match series against the Proteas recently impacted the rankings of pacer Mohammed Siraj (from 11th to 13th) and Kuldeep (from 13th to 15th).
