IND vs ENG, ODI World Cup 2023: India outplayed the defending champions England at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow to clinch their sixth win in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 on Sunday.
The Men in Blue were clinical enough to hand England their fifth loss in six matches as bowlers stepped up to defend the 229 runs in front of an out-of-form but strong English batting lineup.
Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah put up a remarkable show with the bowl as they shared seven out of 10 wickets between themselves and helped India bowl England out for just 129 runs in 34.5 overs.

While bowlers didn't allow fielders to show their class much as they wrapped up the game quickly, KL Rahul was adjudged as the 'Fielder of the Match' as announced by the fielding coach T Dilip after the win over Jos Buttler-led England.
Rahul took a good catch to dismiss Moeen Ali (15) off Shami’s bowling. He also stumped Chris Woakes (10) as the England all-rounder charged down the pitch to left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja.
While analysing the fielding efforts of all the players during the match against England the fielding coach lauded substitute fielder Ishan Kishan, pacer Mohammed Siraj and Rahul for their impactful contributions on the field.

Meanwhile, the most spectacular thing was his way of announcing the winner once again as he took the help of a light show at the Ekana Stadium to declare Rahul the winner before Shreyas Iyer handed over the medal to the wicketkeeper-batter.
This was the second time that Rahul has won the “Fielder of the Match” medal. Earlier in the tournament, the 31-year-old won the medal for his promising performance against arch-rivals Pakistan in Ahmedabad.
He took a stunning diving catch to dismiss Imam-ul-Haq (36) after the left-handed opener attempted a loose drive off Hardik Pandya’s bowling.
Talking about the match, skipper Rohit Sharma played a stunning knock of 87 runs as India managed to post a challenging total of 229/9 in their 50 overs with the help of some crucial contributions from Suryakumar Yadav (49) and KL Rahul (39).
Shami finished with brilliant bowling figures of 4/22 whereas Bumrah ended up with 3/32. They got great support from spinners as well with Kuldeep Yadav taking two wickets while Ravindra Jadeja also picked up a wicket to help the team to humiliate the English batting.
