'72 Hoorain' is produced by Ashoke Pandit and directed by Sanjay Puran Singh. The film was released on July 7 and courted several controversies ahead of its release. The film was also accused of hurting the religious sentiments of a community, but amid the buzz, the film crashed badly at the box office with no chance of revival.

The film features Pawan Malhotra and Ameer Bashir in lead roles and was released at the box office without the release of an official trailer by the makers. It opened up to receiving mixed reviews from critics and sparked multiple controversies. On July 12, the film earned Rs 40 lakh, taking the total box office collection to be around Rs 2 crore. The film has an overall occupancy in the Hindi belt of 7.84 percent.

'72 Hoorain' revolves around the backdrop of terrorism and people who think it is their staircase to heaven but in reality a daunting path of religious conversion. The film also premiered at the 50th IFFI 2019, where it won the ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal-special Mention for promoting peace and intercultural dialogue award.

The story is about Bilal and Hakim given instructions in the name of Allah to go ahead and cast a terror attack in Mumbai with a reward of 72 beautiful virgins after the mass killings. However, the duo ends up in shock after not receiving beautiful virgins in their arms but entering the field of terrorism.
