Karnataka News: Mysore District Police arrested three youths from T Narasipura in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a woman at a hotel in Kollegala, Chamarajanagar district, last week.
The victim is reportedly from West Bengal. She was sent to a rehabilitation center for counselling and support, and her identity is currently being verified.

Three Accused Arrested
Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baladandi stated that a case of gang rape has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita based on the victim's complaint. Three accused, Rihan, Kiran, and Kishore, have been arrested.
Woman Gang-Raped At Hotel
According to the complaint, the accused lured the woman into a car and took her to a hotel in a neighbouring district. There, she was sexually assaulted in a hotel room and then attempted to extort money from her.
The woman falsely promised to return the money she had kept at home and managed to escape. Upon reaching her home, she got out of the car, locked herself in, and started shouting. Neighbours immediately informed the police.
Police Investigation Finds Contradiction
However, the police have some doubts about the veracity of the complaint. Police said preliminary investigations indicated that the woman went to the hotel with the accused willingly. Investigators also claim that a dispute between the two parties began when the accused discovered that the woman had recorded a video of a private act on her phone.
It is alleged that the men then snatched her mobile phone, formatted it, and forcibly demanded Rs 1 lakh from her. Although the alleged rape incident is said to have occurred within the limits of the Chamarajanagar area, the Mysore police subsequently registered the case because the woman was allegedly picked up in a car from a village in T Narasipura in Mysore district.
