Jagran Correspondent | Lucknow: A man was arrested under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) for raping a 16-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh. The girl came into contact with the accused, identified as Hemant Kumar on Snapchat. The two soon engaged in a love affair. The matter came to light when it was discovered that the minor was pregnant with the man's child. On Sunday, the victim's father filed a complaint at the Naka police station.
When Did The Incident Occur?
The victim is a resident of Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh and lives with her family in the Bazarkhala area. About 1.5 years ago, she received a Snapchat request from Hemant. The two started talking and were soon involved in an affair. The accused Hemant then convinced the victim to meet at the hotel in Naka. In the private room inside the hotel, the accused raped her and then threatened to not reveal the incident to anyone.
However, the matter turned different when the minor revealed the horrific incident to her parents. A few days ago, the victim's health deteriorated, and her family took her to a doctor. The medical professional then confirmed that the minor was pregnant.
Following this, the victim's father filed a complaint. Naka SO Vivek Chaudhary said the accused, Kumar, was arrested outside the Charbagh bus stand. He is a resident of Kuria, Ahiya, Raipur, and Rae Bareli and works as an electrician.
A seven-year-old girl, whose brothers (also children), saw two men offering her chips and a cold drink before taking her away with them, was allegedly gang-raped, murdered and thrown into the sub-basement of a mall under construction in Raj Nagar Extension, where her parents work as labourers.
