In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old working professional died from cardiac arrest just minutes after texting his boss about taking sick leave in Bengaluru.
The incident has left his colleagues and friends in shock. His manager, named KV Iyyer, has recounted the incident in a post on X, which has gone viral.
In his post, he recalled when Shankar, the employee in his team, texted him saying that he was suffering from severe back pain and so wouldn't be able to come to the office.
Iyyer wrote, "At 8:37 am, Shankar messaged me: ‘Sir, due to severe back pain I am unable to come today. Please grant me leave.’ I thought it was routine and replied, ‘Ok, take rest.

He said that hours later, he received a call regarding the information on Shankar's death. Narrating the unbelievable condition at that time, he said, "At first, I couldn’t believe it. I called another colleague to confirm and went to his house. By the time I reached, he was gone".
The post has gone widely viral and condolances have poured in the comment section. While some prayed for peace for the soul, the others highlighted the fragile nature of life
Iyyer also spoke about the lifestyle of Shankar, saying that he was fit, non-smoker, non-drinker, married and father to one child. He added that Shankar worked in his team for six years.
"He suffered a cardiac arrest. What is unbelievable is that he texted me at 8:37 am and passed away at 8:47 am. A man was fully conscious just 10 minutes before his last breath. I am completely shaken," he wrote.
Iyyer underscored the unpredictable nature of life at the end of his post, saying, "Life is unpredictable. Be kind to those around you and live happily, because you never know what the next minute holds."
