Android 15 Release Date Expectations: Google has been prepping the next version of Android for several months with a limited audience. The company has been testing the beta trim of the OS with developers and beta users and announced the latest Beta 4.1 version on July 29 with minor changes and fixes. A range of Pixel smartphones can try out the latest version before the stable build via the testing program.
Smartphone makers such as Honor, iQOO, Nothing, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Vivo, Xiaomi and more have already announced their beta program for select phones to try the build before release. But the question remains: When the stable build of Android 15 will be released? Google has stated a final release timeline after July on its Android Developers' site but has not shared a clear timeline.
Android 15 Release Date (Leaks)
Android 15 has already reached platform stability, which implies a stable release is not too far away. This also means app developers are in the final stages of ironing out any compatibility issues on their apps. It seems Google has also finalised the features for Android 15. The version is expected to boast satellite connectivity for eligible phones, app archiving, screen recording detection, partial screen sharing and more.
As for the expected release date, Google announced Android 14 at the launch event of the Google Pixel 8 last year. Hence, we can anticipate the Android 15 announcement on August 13. Note the launch of the Pixel 9 series is slated for August 14 in India. Hence, the most probable release date for Android 15 will be August 13 or 14 with the announcement of the new Google flagships.
The Pixel 9 lineup (confirmed to include the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold will launch in India) will likely debut with Android 15 out of the box. The gradual release of the upcoming Android for other phones may take longer as smartphone makers may spend time refining the version for their ROMs. Android 15 is expected to bring a host of new features and improvements.
