To enhance security in Ayodhya amid a growing influx of tourists and pilgrims, a new Special Task Force (STF) building is currently under construction on Golaghat Road. The project is being carried out under the supervision of the Public Works Department (PWD) and is expected to be completed and handed over to the police by September.

The four-storey facility is being developed over an area of approximately 1995.12 square meters at a cost of Rs 9 crore. The need for a dedicated STF unit building was felt due to rising security concerns and increasing crime control demands in the temple town.

Equipped with modern infrastructure, the new building will feature high-speed internet, CCTV surveillance, and a special emergency control room. The structure is also being designed with a focus on sustainability and efficiency, including provisions for solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system.

According to Umesh Chandra, Executive Engineer at the PWD, the construction work is progressing steadily, with plastering currently underway. The ground floor will include a designated parking area for ease of access.
