The Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) is set to launch an extensive campaign to celebrate Maharaja Suheldev's Vijay Diwas in a grand manner. The campaign, titled 'Gaon Chalo Samaj Jodo,' will run across the state from April 18 to June 10, aiming to engage backward castes, including Rajbhars, and encourage their participation in the Vijay Diwas celebrations. The campaign will include Jan Chaupals to discuss the contributions of national heroes, including Maharaja Suheldev.
SBSP has also expressed support for the ban on the Neja fair in Sambhal, which commemorates Syed Salar Masood Ghazi, the nephew of foreign invader Mahmud Ghaznavi.
The party advocates for the celebration of Maharaja Suheldev's Vijay Diwas instead of the fair in Bahraich. Rajbhar voters, who play a crucial role in districts of the Terai region, are a key target for SBSP, particularly ahead of next year's three-tier Panchayat elections. The party aims to strengthen its base among backward castes by promoting the legacy of Maharaja Suheldev.
Arun Rajbhar, the national general secretary of SBSP, emphasised that Maharaja Suheldev Rajbhar defeated Syed Salar Masood Ghazi in battle on June 10, 1034, during the first Sunday of the Jyeshta month in the Vikrami Samvat 1091 AD. This date will be celebrated as Vijay Diwas on a large scale.
Rajbhar also accused the SP, BSP, and Congress of politicising the issues of the deprived and backward communities and declared that SBSP would raise the slogan, 'Garland in the neck, lock on thoughts,' against these parties.
