To provide convenience to passengers during the summer, the railway administration has introduced special trains running via Lucknow. The 05636/05635 Guwahati-Shri Ganganagar-Guwahati Summer Special Train, passing through Gorakhpur, will operate from Guwahati every Wednesday from May 21 to June 25 and from Shri Ganganagar every Sunday from May 25 to June 29, for a total of six trips. 

The 05636 Guwahati-Shri Ganganagar Summer Special will depart from Guwahati every Wednesday at 18:15 hrs, passing through Kamakhya and Goalpara Town, reaching Lucknow on the third day at 02:20 hrs via New Jalpaiguri. From Lucknow, it will continue to Kanpur Central at 04:10 hrs, Mathura Junction at 10:55 hrs, and arrive at Shri Ganganagar at 03:30 hrs on the fourth day. 

On the return journey, 05635 Shri Ganganagar-Guwahati will depart from Shri Ganganagar every Sunday at 13:20 hrs, reaching Lucknow at 14:30 hrs on the second day. From there, it will travel via Ayodhya Cantt and reach Guwahati at 00:25 hrs on the fourth day.

Additionally, the 05742/05741 New Jalpaiguri-Ayodhya Cantt-New Jalpaiguri Summer Special Train via Gorakhpur will operate from New Jalpaiguri every Sunday from May 18 to June 29, and from Ayodhya Cantt every Monday from May 19 to June 30, for a total of seven trips. 

The 05742 New Jalpaiguri-Ayodhya Cantt train will depart from New Jalpaiguri every Sunday at 13:40 hrs and reach Ayodhya Cantt at 09:30 hrs the following day. On the return journey, 05741 Ayodhya Cantt-New Jalpaiguri will leave Ayodhya Cantt every Monday at 11:40 hrs, reaching New Jalpaiguri at 09:30 hrs the next day.

In addition, four previously cancelled trains have been restored for passengers' convenience. The North Eastern Railway spokesperson, Mahesh Gupta, stated that non-interlocking work is being carried out for the third line project between Gorakhpur Station and Gorakhpur Cantt under the Kushmi-Gorakhpur Cantt-Gorakhpur Junction third line project. The following trains, which had been cancelled earlier, have now been restored:

- Train no. 55033-55034 Gonda-Sitapur-Gonda Passenger (cancelled on April 14)  

- Train no. 55059-55060 Sitapur-Shahjahanpur-Sitapur (cancelled on April 14)  

- Train no. 55091 Gonda-Sitapur City Passenger (cancelled on April 14)  

- Train no. 55092 Sitapur City-Gonda Passenger (cancelled on April 15)  

Additionally, the operation of 75107 Barhni-Gonda DEMU, 75109 Gonda-Bahraich DEMU, 75110 Bahraich-Gonda DEMU, and 75113 Gonda-Bahraich DEMU has been restored starting from April 23. However, 75107/75108 Barhni-Gonda-Barhni DEMU trains will remain cancelled between Barhni-Nakha Jungle-Barhni due to the ongoing non-interlocking work for the third line project.
