Anuskha Sharma has been missing from the big screens since 2018. The actress was last seen in a lead role alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in Zero. Sharma completed the shooting of Chakda Xpress in 2022 but it was delayed several time. However, as per a news report, the team of the Chakda Xpress are now eager to release the film. As reported by Mid Day, after the Indian Women’s Cricket Team’s historic win at the ICC World Cup, the makers of the film have written to the top executives of Netflix, urging them to release the film.

A source told the portal, “We have personally written to top executives at Netflix India to see if they can rise above the conflict so that the film can see the light of day. A biopic on a legend like Jhulan di deserves to reach the audience.”

“The production house went over-budget. What added to the woes was that the platform heads didn’t like the way the project was shaping up. But it’s still a solid film,” the insider added.

The rights of Chakda Xpress are currently with Netflix. Another source told the portal, “The recent victory has put the attention back on the biopic. Internal discussions at the streamer have started, and the team is expected to take a final pass this month to determine if it can be released after additional work.”

For those unaware, Chakda Xpress is the biopic based on the life of the former Indian Cricketer Jhulan Goswami. According to reports, the film is expected to be released on Netflix.

On the personal front, Anushka Sharma has been married to Virat Kohli since 2017. The couple has moved to London to live a calm life away from all the glitz and glamour. They moved to London in 2024 but keep coming to India for their work commitments.

Anushka Sharma was also seen in Qala but in cameo roles. The film featured Tripti Dimri, Babil Khan and Swastika Mukherjee in the lead roles. It was then produced by Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma. It was released in November 2022.
